7/10

It’s been eight years since Lit’s previous release, eight very heavy years for brothers A. Jay and Jeremy Popoff. In 2005 a motorcycle accident with a drunk driver killed their stepfather and seriously injured their mother, before drummer Allen Shellenberger (39) was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2008, which would later take his life.
But what can we expect from The View From The Bottom? Well it isn’t packed with the pop punk gems that we’re used to, but that’s not to say that this record doesn’t offer some great songs. Tracks such as ‘The Broken’ and ‘Here’s To Us’ help tell the story of the past eight years, whilst the more light hearted offerings of ‘C’mon’ and ‘Same Shit, Different Drink’ are a little more like the Lit of yesteryear.
There is definitely enough on this album for fans to latch on to, but most importantly Lit are back and they are bringing Rock n Roll!
