DAY OF THE SIRENS – ‘I Could Talk To God?’
Day Of The Sirens have spoken to Ourzone about their new music video and single ‘I Could Talk To God?’.
Front man Jack Fox spoke to OZ about the theme of the video: “Like with our last video we wanted to go for something completely different again to what you see everyday from music videos. With music videos the world is your oyster and the possibilities are endless so we wanted to go for something imaginative as supposed to your standard stock performance video!”
“One of the themes we wanted to highlight with the video is how hard being in a band is in the modern day. All four of us have to do day jobs to fund the band so at times it can be very hard to get the balance. With illegal downloading it’s even harder to make money these days so the band wouldn’t be able to survive financially if we didn’t work. But as we highlight in the video all the hardships of working become worthwhile we board the van and get on tour.”
When asked about the song itself he explained: “Some people may perceive the lyrical content of the song to be somewhat controversial. I wanted to write a song about how although I’m an atheist, even in the worst of times and in desperation you think it may be better for you if there was this belief and if there was a higher power that could help. A sort of ‘maybe the grass is greener on the other side’ but I’m happy where I am and will deal with the consequences if there are any!”
